Application guidelines for clip-on wheel weights
General rules and tips regarding application of clip-on wheel balance weights:
- It is recommended to use a platic hammer to avoid damaging the coating on the wheel weights. A coating that remains intact means long lasting corrosion resistance.
- Steel wheels use REG or P style wheel weights on passenger cars and T style on pickup trucks.
- For alloy rims use alloy rim gauge or application chart to determine the proper series to apply.
The clips are carefully designed to have the right balance between elasticity and hardness to stay on the rim. If they are altered the wheel weights could fall off which may result in serious injury. If a wheel weight does not fit a wheel the proper thing to do is to determine the appropriate series by using an alloy wheel gauge or adhesive wheel weights. Do not bend the clip by using pliers or any other means.
